Those heavy utility straps look like a solid option, but I'm loath to hacksaw the buckles off; apart from everything else it just seems like a waste of two perfectly good buckles. I'll ask if REI has polypro webbing on-site -- noticed the physical stores often have stuff the website doesn't, and vice versa.
So I'm looking for 12-15 footers with loops at both ends... would Home Depot or (if I can find one) a climbing supply store have usable ones with loops pre-sewn? Theoretically I'd be fine with tying knots in the ends, but it would make packing and transportation a little more unwieldy.
I guess I'll just go with the Omega Pacific rings; and just a final question, would just clipping the rings to the ENO biners work? Seems like they might slide around too much without tension or under shifting strain, which could be bad. I guess I could always use two more carabiners.
