    "Good enough"

In a former life I was raised as a strict perfectionist. Everything had to be perfect and if it was not then it was no good at all. I discovered the destination most often approached in the pursuit of total perfection is insanity. I can't count how many times I have seen a statement like "my stitch lines are not very good" said apologetically. The quest for the perfect kit collection has to be restarted every time a new whatever comes along. The perfect hang has to be set up with a protractor and inclinometer.

Don't get me wrong. I am not saying these are wrong things. But I think there comes a time when "good enough" is a very acceptable resting place. At least for a while. Just a thought for those who a driven to reach perfection without enjoying the journey through "good enough."
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

"Bless you child, when you set out to thread a needle don't hold the thread still and fetch the needle up to it; hold the needle still and poke the thread at it; that's the way a woman most always does, but a man always does t'other way."

I was raised in the school of "I will half-arse it and get it done timely rather than try to get it perfect and never finish"......
    Good school for me.

I agree. There's a time and a place for "perfect", but those times are getting few and far between as I get older.

My "good enough" seems much more removed from perfection than most.
