How about a Permit? I don't know when they close but can get to the Ranger Cabin on Kistler before 5:00 if necessary. What is needed for the Permit? Names, or just numbers?
I THOUGHT GETTING OLDER WOULD TAKE MUCH LONGER.

    .

Depending where you hang, you may not need a permit. You need one only if you camp in the wilderness. The MST is pretty much the border on the East Rim. (Check your USFS map for any given area you decide to hang.)

Just the one person getting the permit needs to provide any info.

Don't know what's needed, but if you would get one, we would appreciate it.

If not, we'll do without, er, I mean we will hang on the east side of the trail.

I'll call tomorrow to find out how late they are open. Get one just in case we camp down in the Gorge. How many in the group now?

I called and found out that they are out of permits for this weekend. That doesn't mean there are not any at the cabin. Dunno if you can call the cabin, though.

It is not a big issue to me if you can't get one.
