This one shows the difference between the green of the 1.7 & gray of the Superfly. I dont know what to say about the orbs in the nighttime pic

Glacier Peak Wilderness, in Wa state. There's a one mile spur trail off of the North Fork Sauk trail, called Red Mountain lookout trail. The lookout itself is long gone, but the view point remains. The little mole hill in the background is Sloan Peak.
I generally set up for lunch and try to find a view. Also something i have in mind...now i'm not trying to put down the photographers on this site.. but i have seen few hammock shots with dramatic alpine views in the background. So I keep an eye out for such shots, i will set up just for such a photo.
Also, note if you click on the map link and scroll around, there are some really long distance trails in that area. On my to do list this summer, it to take the NF Sauk trail, hang a right on Pilot ridge a few miles then follow it to the PCT hang a left, back to the NF Sauk trail. It should be a 25ish mile alpine ridge top loop.

    Coyote Brown and Superfly

I took these two pics behind our house, today. One pic is of the Superfly over a Coyote Brown Blackbird. The material is somewhat reflective, so the Superfly can look olive to silver depending on the light. The other pic is of the Superfly from a distance. Here, you can see that the Superfly is partially picking up the color from the bright overcast sky and the surrounding green of the forest.

It was like these color combinations were tailor made for our pine forest.

There's absolutely no shortage of views like that in my neck of the woods. The challenge being finding on opening in the forest appropriate for clear view of a hammock in the foreground free of underbrush. Most openings in the forest canopy mean lots of brush.

I just got a greybird, really amazing color for a blackbird hammock. Really stealthy! Looks green under the right light, looking forward to using it.

I'm thinking I really like the Coyote. It has availibility, and the weight should be about me and my pack all told... so I'll look into that. Turns out my computer has something wrong with displaying certain file extensions, so maybe I can see the other half of these pictures. After careful study the night before last, I decided that hard, stiff surface, plus me, even cushioned by a thermarest, equals sore back and little sleep. I'll keep posted. Thanks for the pics guys.

Just got my gray BB last night. I'll try to hang it during my lunch break and snap a photo or two for ya.

    * Just tried 'er out. Very easy set up. Didn't mess with the ridgeline yet or get a chance to snap a photo; had to run back to the office. I'll try to post a photo later.
