    Howdy from Texas

I thought I'd check in. I am primarily interested in ultra light bike packing. I have been tenting with a Henry Shire Contrail, a really nice light tent.

But a friend mentioned hammocks. So I bought a HH Expedition at REI and gave that a whirl. It has been interesting in a positive way. I had a feeling I maybe wasn't quite getting it and searched until I found this site. I am not quite sure if that was good or bad

I have an order on the way for a Blackbird, Super Fly and Yeti. I have ordered up some Amsteel Blue to build a Woopie sling. And I am eyeballing some top quilts.

What have I got myself into?

    Thanks for listening,
    Rick

BTW, my guess is that the Texas folks have seen the info on the June Texas Hang, but if not, check it out.

My schedule won't permit me to be there but I wanted to give it a plug anyway - some really nice folks I've hung with before will be there so I expect all will have a great time.
