No, but I'm hoping to hit New Zealand during your Winter.
I'd love to hit some trails down under though.
I've never done the walk but, I live on the coast and going off that knowledge i would say there might not be trees right on the beach but you should only have to head 100-200m inland to find something suitable.
Mate, I've done a few shorter sections of the coastal walk as part of longer walks in the RNP as a whole. The coast walk is quite scenic and also quite flat.
From memory most of the flora along the coast is heather and other assorted scrub. You MIGHT find some suitable trees at Wattamolla and North Era off to the side of the official camp ground. (You need a permit.)
