    Drip lines/rings with whoopies

    Are there any concerns about water travelling down a whoopie and making it way to the hammock ?

    I'm thinking with a tree strap and whoopie larks headed straight on to my BB.

    Do you guys add a drip line or ring somewhere at all ?

    With my current carabiner/webbing/chain-link setup I don't get any so I want to make sure I stay dry with my new rig.

    As ever thanks and sorry for the newbie q's

    I am not an expert but one thing I really like about Whoopies, is that they have a built-in drip-line of sorts.
    My bury end is close to the hammock, while the loop-end is attached to the tree-straps, this puts a 'natural' drip line under the tarp. Even if you were really stretched out, you will still have a several inches of rope hanging loose.
    I ride a recumbent.
    I like to HAM it up on the CW.
    I use Linux.
    I play go.
    Of course I sleep in a hammock!

    Rich if you look at page 60 (last page) of the sticky above on whoopies, I asked a similar question, and teedee has rather helpfully posted pics of a solution

    Shewie,
    Here's another thread that this was talked about;
    http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/s...hlight=whoopie
    There's also a bunch of others like this if you do a search, I had asked about this a while back and there was some difference between everyone's approach to this subject (as was expected)! I finally came to the decision that this comes down to the same as everything else with hammocking/hiking/and gear---- it's all personal preference and what makes you comfortable out in the environment's that we will encounter in the pinney wood's!!! I was using the ring and chainlink method (same as Shug and others) which kept me dry through some nasty storms, but have now switched to just tying the whoopie (larksheaded) to the hammock and going to tie a couple half hitches with the tail end of the whoopie and see how this works, I will have drip strings with me if I feel I need it!!
