With all of the mergers going on, maybe the days of the hammock community cottage industries are numbered ?!?!

I can just see all of the HF old timers sitting around lamenting the good old days of actually knowing the Jacks and Mac and Ed and Paul and Opie and ....

Now all of the youngsters are MBAs and only concerned with ....

Hmm maybe time to start looking for something even better than hammocks in which to sleep now that the hammocking community is getting old stodgers that lament the fine old days.

Before long we'll even develop a backlash against all of these new fangled ideas like Whoopies and rings and 2 mm suspensions and they'll say that to be pure, they're reverting to the Hennessy lashing and 5 mm rope only and they would like to do away with tree huggers, but maybe that is going too far.

Oh, by the way Mac - Congrats.

Their days are numbered only because sooner or later the economy will improve and folks will get a real job.

It's tough to make it work, without it working you to death! Right now, I am swamped, but I only have enough work for a couple of weeks. Can't afford to hire anyone, and can't work hard enough to build inventory. Same thing is happening to Stormcrow, from what I have read. Brian has similar challenges. Brandon was seeking piece work help a while back.

Partnership with Ed, John and Dale is how we will make sure our cottage businesses will thrive, without losing their identity and character. With John and Dale focusing on taking orders and making gear, I can do what I enjoy most and do best: design and prove new gear! Same with Ed. It's a cooperative partnership of cottage businesses.

Funny how folks relate a small business agreement to mega-corporate-big-fish-eat-little-fish-deal-making... kinda flattering, but far from the truth.

Maybe someday we'll be too big to fail, and can get a gummint bailout!

Thanks for the best wishes, TeeDee and everyone else!

    Great news.

Best wishes to Mac and Tree to Tree gear on the venture.

Congrats on the partnership. Since you're swamped, I'll wait and order the IX stuff when it's more feasible.

Just curious......when might we start seeing MacEntyre's and Speer's stuff on the Tree to Trail Gear website?

    Inquiring minds want to know...

I haven't come close to figuring this part out on my end. It's rough when you've spend ridiculous hours working on gear, then look at your business account and think, "how come there's nothing in there?"

Congratulations Mac. I'm looking forward to seeing the Tree To Tree really start up.

    Keep at it my friend.
