    Hello from West Virginia!

Hey everyone, long time lurker(couple of years) but I finally registered and started posting. I have been wanting to convert to hanging for a while so I finally took the plunge.

Thanks for all the great info on this site. Its hard to soak it all in.

I will mainly be motorcycle camping but have a few paddling and hiking overnighters on the schedule.

So far I have gotten my WBBB 1.1 DL, and a 12x9.5 Chinook Tarp. I ordered some ties outs and a single ridge line set up from Arrowhead and some STL and stakes from JRB. I can believe how fast those guys get stuff shipped out.

Plans are to do a DIY tarp and UQ.

I need to start shopping for a small sleeping bag to, my current zero degree bag is too bulky for the bike and the backpack.

I look forward to posting some trip reports and starting some DIY projects.

    Thanks
    Jeremy

Welcome, Jeremy. As you've been following the forum for a while, you probably already know the advantages of a top quilt over a sleeping bag (less weight, less bulk). Makes a good DIY project, too. I cut down my sleeping bag to make a quilt, but making a quilt from scratch isn't hard either.

There's a MAHHA hang at Dolly Sods in September.

Thanks for the welcome and yes I will be looking into a top quilt. Sounds like a fun DIY project. I will have to dig the wife's sewing machine out of the closet.

Notice from the picture that you are a biker. Ditto. I have a HD Ultra Classic and a BMW 1150 RT. I use the hammock for road trips, not into the Trail Hiking due to knee issues.
    Anyway, welcome to the forum.

    Thanks for the welcome everyone!

Yep I ride and we ride over in the mountains a lot to fish so the hammock will get used a ton. I have a Suzuki DL650, a Ural Patrol T a Yz250 for racing and my wife has an XT225. I thinking about picking up a BMW G650X Challenge for dual sport use. My Vstrom does ok in the dirt but something lighter would be fun. On the bike I think the hammock is the way to go, weight isnt a concern but size is. I like being able to pack everything in its own compression bag and stuff them into the little voids in my side cases. Plus No freaking poles to deal with will be very nice.

I hung the WBBB for the first time friday and man that sucker is sweeet! I cant wait to go camping.
