You can sign me up for site 5, I dont mind roots, mud or the drop-off.
Getting superpsyched to be again with the brotherhood.
Glad to see the head count-I signed up for coctail sauce, what, you figure a bottle per person?
One extreme to another was the challenge Muskrat gave, actually looking forward to the heat, it was 56F this morning on the mountain.
Are there any open areas on this island?
If so I can bring ladder-toss or put it on one of the shuttle boats with Cake's dutch oven if any interest?
Family affair this is, but is responsible drinking allowed? Just reflecting back to the circle on Mt.Rogers.

The reservation was free and the permits states - No alcoholic beverages allowed (paraphrase).

I don't see why there can't be some adult beverages just off shore.

As for the sites. . . Rice you are correct. 1,2, and 3 are better suited as a beach area. However, from the typical wind direction, these sites receive very little wind, almost stagnant. We do have the entire island and sites 1 & 5 are pretty much open for a nice gathering of people. It is possible to walk between the two sites but I would strongly encourage watching out for poison ivy. If we want to use the entire island, we can. I will most likely hang at #5 unless we end up with a nomadic cold front coming through. Campsite #4 I believe has a small beach area for boat landing, nothing like site #1.

As for the adult beverages go, the rules are printed. However, responsible consumption could be practiced but each person assumes the risk that is associated with it. I will not have any my children out there this time but I would think if we do have kids present (do we ) that any consumption of adult beverages be done so in moderation as not to become a poor example to the kids. DNR regularly patrols the lake and this is a popular camping destination so I would not be surprised if we get a visit. Just throwing caution into the wind !

There is room for games, ladder toss, corn hole, etc. I would also think 1 bottle of cocktail sauce could serve 2-3 people.

It appears we may have the shrimp covered just from what I am seeing on the spreadsheet. Considering the possibility that we have only 12 people attending the boil, I would "guess" we might need more potatoes, corn, and sausage. I have always been under the impression for shrimp that you should plan a half pound per person when served with other items (corn, sausage, potatoes..).

Another thought is obtaining water. Although there is not an issue of getting from my in-laws (15 minute boat ride), maybe it might be a bit more convenient to get it from the marina where everyone will be parking (less than 5 minute boat ride)? How many water containers can we come up with? I can purchase some if it is needed. . .

Do we still need a 3rd pot? I think I've got a 10 or 12 quart that would be useful.

Let me know if there's anything else I can bring.
