weird1, brother jeffrey and i hit scott lake, at the doorway to the mt. washington wilderness, oregon, last weekend for a car camp/day hike hang.
great weather, epic snow-melt mosquito hatches up at the 4800' elevation; a breed of biters known for being particularly voracious.
lost the trail in snowbanks up near scott mountain, and trudged through thick forest back to a trail junction thanks to weird1's garmin oregon 500T GPS. did about 9 - 10 miles on the day hike. slept like stones in our hammocks!
i had an HHULBP with 2QZQ Mod 4 with custom bigfoot2 UQ and wb mamba tq
weird1 hung a wbbb 1.7 DL with wb yeti
brother jeffrey was in a wb 1.1 DL traveler, wb net, and hg incubator
all reported warm sleeping at 39 degrees.
no tarps.
good hike, good fire, good drinks, good stories, good hang'n friends.
