Cuffs kept showing up with stuff she won... little stuff, but good stuff. I was jealous!

I happened to walk by the Fire Station when the winning trout was measured... 22.75"

On the way to breakfast, someone hailed me from a porch, and offered a bagel. Whiel I was eating it, Happy Camper walked by with TrouEhCuss. Small world!

SmithOBX took me on a Friday evening tour of Tent City and the Drum Circle. I probably would not have gone otherwise... those young Hippie-wannabes do a credible imitation of the real thing!

My hammock stand failed, so I borrowed a vendor's hammock that was left up overnight. Had to arise early to avoid detection.

The Jacks were there, gracious and friendly as always. I met some good folks among the vendors, including Tin Man, his son and crew from Antigravity Gear, Brian Vargos, and Chris from Enertia.

The guys from antigravity gear rock. Matt has helped me with special orders many times, and the whole crew is just amazing at their jobs. Just received a $200 order from them after adding things and revising it about 4 times and asking a million questions.
Not the guy to ask for Directions.

It is a small world. Saturday evening Backpacker Magazine did their big prize give-away raffle. They were giving away boxes of gear. Turns out that standing right in front of me was my student worker from 5 years ago who is now thru-hiking the trail. His trail name is Doppler. I know his mother and she gave me the link to his trail journal. I've been keeping track of his journey but didn't know if he'd be at Trail Days. It was great seeing him. He told me he had almost quit the trail twice. Just then Backpacker yells out my name! They handed me the box and I turned around and gave it to Doppler. He was so surprised but the look on his face when I gave him the box was so worth it. If my trail magic can keep him on the AT longer, it's all good!

I can vouch for Happy Camper being a great person to hike and hang with. Wish I'd been able to make Trail Days this year...but, I can always be there vicariously through her posts.

BTW, when Tracy mentioned that she met Cuffs, I asked her if she was smoking a cigar...I never got an answer. I guess what happens at TD stays at TD lol

Sitting beside me works too! At the AT play, I won a pair of orange SuperFeet and gave them to a thru-hiker sitting next to me. He was thrilled because he said he was just about to buy a pair. Just doing my part for the thru-hikers. By the way it was great meeting you and your sons, even for a few minutes.

There were adult beverages at Trail Days?

Here is a thread with video of the Gorge Rats reviewing the Vargos Hexagon Wood Stove that I bought at Trail Days. Brian Vargo is an exceptional person. I enjoyed meeting him very much.
