best knots for testing hammock

Interesting. I assume you're talking about tying the fabric with an overhand knot at each end and then tying a rope behind the knot with something like a lark's head knot. Is that right?

Speer Hammocks are knotted on the ends. This is a pretty common quick and easy approach to end gathering. If you're doing it for testing, maybe try sticking something like a narrow rod through the knot as you tie it, to help loosen it up after wards.

And a larks head works great for suspension line attachment.

Ok I understand now!! Yea you could just use a small cut of rope to tie it up! Doesn't have to be a special knot, unless that is what you are trying to do!?

The knot in the end of the fabric can get a little hard to get out once weight has been put on it, it can be done but can be a pain to get out! You could do what Sclittlefield said and put something in the knot to make it easier to get undone!
FWIW I tied my two girls hammocks that way and no problem's since! Accept for trying to get it out!
