We lived on Andros Island in the Bahamas for a year. the West coast of is virtually untouched but difficult to get too. The east coast is just off the tongue of the ocean (wonderful diving) and has remote beaches that are endless and often have trees (usually Andros Yellow pine) nearby. it is fairly difficult to get too as the beaches are inside the reef,( which is unbelievable.) but in a carefully guided boat with good maps you can be alone on a 5 mile beach at a lot of places. toward the N end, SaddleBback cays come to mind, and the islet Calabash, just off the inlet to Stafford creek (salt). Dozens of little islets dot the coast inside the reef that are eminently hammackable!! gnome
