Will i save a lot of weight with woopies on a WBBB1.7DL

My blackbird 1.7 DL weight 1180 grams with stock webbing and cinch buckle + stuff bag..

Looking for someone with a blackbird 1.7 dl and installed whoopies .. what does it weight ? How much weight can I save by replacing the webbing and buckle with whoopies..

    thank you for your answers.

Well... I do know a set of 6' slings from 7/64 weigh 1.3 ounces. I dont know what my 1.7 double weighs with them because right now Ive got a different set-up on it. But if you remove your current suspension, weigh it than add 1.3 ounces youll know what it would weigh with 6' slings.

Of coarse you would also have to add back on a set of tree straps of the appropriate length and a way to connect the slings to the staps, be it a carabiner toggle or just a trail toggle. So it would be a greater diffrence than just 1.3 oz, for most people converting to whoopies makes a 3-5 oz diffrence over the webbing straps that are stock, but the other big factor is that smaller straps and whoopies take up less room packed than the stock webbing.

i never thought about space the webbing takes.. but i just dont know where to cut weight from my pack lately and i started to raised an eyebrow at my webbings..

3 to 5 oz is good in my book!

i think i cut more weight than that. i used Ahe's 1/8th gunmetal black whoopies and then i think i have 5 foot straps and a small toggle tied to it... besides the ridiculous amount of bulk, i think i saved well over 8 ounces. i used to have 1/4 inch 15 foot of straps, buckles and 'biners on each end.

See my thread in the warbonnet section called dynaglide bb, i go tmy single layer down to 13.6oz. For a double its around 20oz, but not sure been awhile since i weighed it, shouldn't be more than 21.

I have the identical double 1.7 WBBB & replaced my stock webbing w/ triangle rings w/ whoopie slings. I have taken my new whoopie slings (7' max length per side) and 5' straps w/ alum. crossbow shaft toggle and weighed them as compared to my previous suspension (WBBB straps, tri rings, carabiner). My new whoopie sling suspension weighs 4.4 OZ for both sides whereas my old suspension weighed in at 11.0 OZ on the same scale.

That is a savings of 6.6 OZ!

I have not weighed my entire hammock w/ suspension but rather just the suspension components.
