I'm a Noob to hanging and this forum, but I'm the type that goes all out of goes home. I don't have the full set-up yet, but it's only a matter of time.
When searching for a new pack, I read review about the EMO Double-Nest and decided to give it a try. I've yet to hang in the woods, but plan on trips into the Sawtooths and Whiteclouds this year. Surely my trail partners will be fighting over my sweet setup.
I've watched all the vids from Shug and Grizz and they're really educational, especially concerning the different methods of suspensions. I appreciate all the help they've both given in towards my hanging experience.
I'm split between the Whoopie, the UCR and a single line setup. The Youtube vids Grizz posted seems to indicate he liked the single line suspension system using desending rings with the structural ridgeline and marlin spike hitch. Why use 10ft of Whoopie string when you can use 5ft of single line? Isn't bulk a factor? Any feedback would be welcome.
I see user: pgibson of Arrowhead Equipment is also from SW Idaho. What part? What are your favorite hiking areas?
Anyhow, I've been lingering for several weeks now and felt it was time to step up and show myself.
