    Hello From High Desert California

    Hello Everyone.

I came here to learn how camping hammocks have changed since the times I was a kid and have used heavy canvas and rope hammocks and lightweight pocket net hammocks as well as learning more about keeping suspended with lightweight covers over the sleeping area.

Although I live in an area that does not really have any trees to suspend from, I am close enough to foothill areas within the nearby mountains with plenty of trees.

I am also curious about DIY projects, such as lightweight self-contained suspension rigs if anyone knows how this might be accomplished.

Currently, I am still shopping around for a decent, but inexpensive camping hammock that does not weigh down a pack too much.

If anyone does not mind, I will have some questions for other members concerning products or even home-made equipment I might have in common with them.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, and thank you for having me.
