I think I have been here all of 2 day and seem to have the bug bad. I felt the need to work on a new suspension for my ENO Doublenest that I use to sleep in my front yard ( I live at the corner of tree and bush, so nobody cares, except for my wife). I have been customizing/making tactical gear for over decade so I had what I needed laying around the Man Cave.
Here is what I used-
(2) US GI Issued snap links to replace the factory links
30 feet of Bluewater 1 inch tubular webbing http://www.gearexpress.biz/Merchant2...uct_Code=BWCSW
(2) ITW Tri Glides
I cut two 8 foot pieces of webbing. I doubled back 10" on each end and tied an over hand knot. I put one on a tree branch and put the snap link on another to use it as a handle to hang on to "set" the knots.
Then I replaced the factory links on the ENO with the USGI links. Next I looped my new straps around a tree and my front porch before attaching the snap links. Then I took the rest of the webbing and rang it through both sets of strap ends about the biner and ran it through a Tri-Glide to set my ridge line. The last thing I did was adjust it to suit me. Done
I am going to test it tonight. Right now the only thing I plan on changing or adding is some bicycle inner tube over the strap to add grab and abrasion protection. Interested to hear what the experts here think.- George
