Linville Gorge Circuit June 11 -13

I had to miss the May Gorge trip, But I can get out June 11 -13!

Any of you younguns up for a circuit trip? Spence Ridge down to the Gorge, south along the river on the alleged Linville Gorge Trail, Lead Mine to the MST, across the river and back north over Shortoff and Tablerock back to Spence Ridge.
I THOUGHT GETTING OLDER WOULD TAKE MUCH LONGER.

You young folks are to much for me
I have my doubts about being able to get back out then, but hopefully you'll find a few takers.

I've decided that if I did that loop again, I would allow 3-4 nights or be in better hiking condition<G>
I too will something make and joy in it's making

If you can make it it shouldn't be all that hard to keep up, at 71 I don't move all that fast!

Linville Gorge Circuit June 11 -13

Bump. Anyone? It's a great trip! I'd hate to have to go with low lifes (ground dwellers).

I'll be camping with a church group that weekend at Kerr Scott Reservoir, otherwise I'd be interested.

I'm only 42, so I hope I can keep up. I would be interested, but what is the condition of that lower Leadmine section? I understood it to be some what...nonexistent last time around.

The group that did Tinkers Linville Gorge, NC Loop - May 14-16 went that way. Described the gullies as steep and slippery if wet.

Any one who passed that way please comment!

I didn't do Leadmine, but I'll bet some of the others will chime in when they come back on.
Sounded just as you described it though (steep & slick), but not very long.
I don't think you would describe it as "nonexistent" though. someone has been doing some serious trail work on it from what I hear.
