Leigh was caught up for about 24 hours. Turn around times are back to about 2 weeks for orders. The winter UQ's have become more popular than I thought.

Rumor has it that there are some TQ's in the works that are unique in several areas. Just need the temps to drop to get some real testing in.

My winter UQ arrived today. I have it hung on my claytor right now and the amount of loft is amazing. Knowing how low I can get in one of Leigh's summer UQ's (close to freezing, below freezing with a weathershield), makes me really want to push the limit of this baby. Bring on the cold.

I used mine a couple weeks ago on the AT up above Neels Gap. It got down into the mid 20's. I still use a sleeping bag with it and I was good to go. We even got a bit of the white stuff that night.

The summer quilt is baffled so it will go lower than a sewn thru quilt

Don't give up on the summer quilt this winter. I use mine with my 3season UQ to make a full length. Attach the summer UQ on the foot end first. Push the first 18" to 24" of down toward the footend to give it maximum loft and density. Overlap your main quilt over the part with the down pushed out. You have some more cords running under the quilt but works great in cold weather. You may still need to add a pad in the foot area based on temps but helps keep the heat in and eliminates the instant cold spots when feet get off pad. Not as light as a full length quilt but uses what you already have.

I have also used the summer quilt as a half TQ with my down jacket in conjuction with my full length quilt. Great way to adjust to lower temps without buying more quilts.

I don't even have a winter quilt yet. Leigh still makes me pay too

Mine is 19oz with suspension and stuff sack. From Leigh, it has 10oz of down.
