    type of alcohol

Thanks for the feedback. Picked up some denatured alcohol and it did indeed make a world of difference! Also, saw that Shug demonstrated the heet in one of his vids so now I see having at least two options. Of course, there's always Everclear...LOL
    Thanks again....we're cookin now!

    A couple of other points.
Yes, I use yellow HEET and it works well--cheap and available almost everywhere.
When I first started to experiment I had a Coleman pan set that was stainless--it took a long time to get water to boil. I've gone to a very light weight aluminum pot and it shortened boil times considerably. Same thing for the stove. I've experimented with steel cans for stoves and they just don't get the job done as well as the thin-wall aluminum. I also don't use any kind of stand for my stove, but I do carry a piece of aluminum foil that I use folded as a reflector and a way of protecting the ground when I'm cooking.
Shug will appreciate this one. I used a Potted Meat Product can--my dog was grateful!

    AN Excellent Stove!

I've been making the Super Cat Stove for years to pass out to friends for emergency stoves. And have followed Jim Woods site on it here for the latest updates he gathers from others who contribute. The hole placement is important and there are different placements to get different temps. like how to make a Simmer Cat. I make mine with the Fancy Feast can because it's easy to make perfectly placed neat holes with a cheap paper puncher.

Been using one for about a year now. Great for a secondary stove for whipping up a backwoods feast. The Supercat usually cooks the sides while the more complex cooking gets done on my canister.

I use Crown NEXT denatured alcohol from Loews. At ~95% ethanol and 0% methanol it's the healthiest burning fuel I can find at a reasonable price.

Had I stopped with the 33 cent fancy feast stove I could have got a Warbonnet by now ( if I wanted one)
but I kept looking and trying other stuff, and keep going back to the cat stove.
It is just a cool little rig.

Thats a great link! I really like my Super Cat, not as fast as some of my other stoves, but easy on fuel and I like simple and reliable.

    Cheers
