You can lighten up the BMBH. Or you can go DIY.
Grizz has a thread where he got the weight down pretty well. I can't currently link to it..... Perhaps someone will post it.
If you are a DIY type you can make a light weight bridge hammock yourself. There is a set of instructions, a bit dated, written by Grizzly Adams that will give the basic ideas. Then look at some of the work Griz has posted lately and plagiarize it! I just finished a bridge that is competitive in weight with my other hammocks, though I haven't gotten around to weighing one.
Oh, and there is material put up by others as well. TeeDee has lots of interesting bridge ideas and was one of the developers of the DIY bridge.

The spreader bars present a major challenge in getting the weight down. However there is a lot of research posted about the issue although you might have to search carefully to find it.
