Shug, you are one of the biggest reasons I became interested in this forum! A non-forum-member friend referred me to sign up by showing me lots of your YouTube videos (very inventive and fun). Not sure if he can get a delayed credit for the referral but, if possible, his future forum name is Velo0826. I saw you on Hawk's Bill in Linville Gorge in a video, and all I could think about was me being stuck in the bottom of that valley with the river well past flood stage and no way across but one bridge. Compass does not work down there because of the rocks, but when the mist became thin enough, I could see the rock formations on the East side. Can't wait to see you and the others out there. I need to become more eccentric anyways.

I look forward to learning from you and hopefully enjoying some outings with whoever is nearby. I live about 1.5 hours North of Asheville, NC, about 30 minutes from Linville Gorge, Mt. Mitchell, and Roan Mountain (highest elevation on the AT). Would love to do some short trips to get familiar with the hammock thing once I get one .

Thanks for the invite! I will have to see if I can borrow a hammock or not from my friend. Sounds like it would be easy and fun, and not too far from me. Also will have to check with wife to see if she is OK with more than 1 outing in the same month? I will certainly get up with somebody if I DO plan on going. Either way, I hope you have a fun and safe trip!

I would love to take a couple of days and explore the woods around the Biltmore Estate. One of my wife's favorite places to visit. I remember a large stand of trees next to a small lake with a great view of the estate. I can see my rig in the trees and me just hanging out...

Oh yeah, the Biltmore Estate and surrounding areas are gorgeous. Assuming I ever find a job and have the income to do much camping, it would be great to play around these woods a bit. So you are a pilot near the coast? Any affiliation with Maxwell AFB? Just curious, since my father used to be stationed there.

So, this is a question for whoever happens to see it- how do i find the google map post of where each member lives? I want to add my address to it. I tried a quick search, but i didn't notice anything on the results. Anyways, hope I get a response so I can put myself on the map!
