    Thanks for the info Mac.

I'll wait till you develop the winter TQ you mentioned somewhere.

I don't recall that I've mentioned a winter TQ... but I have noted that IX TQs can be nested, by putting one pointy footbox inside the other. A four layer TQ would certainly be toasty!

    Hot Feet

"I put a drawstring on the end of the long, pointed footbox, so now you can adjust the ventilation of the footbox." Does this enable the TQ to open out like a (practically) flat blanket? I prefer to have my feet out of my TQ until I get cold.

No, the funnel is still stitched in, but the pointy end opens with a drawstring.

The IX TQ does not allow you to put more than your ankles into the footbox, unless you are very, very tall. So, the footbox is actually laying out beyond your feet. The IX TQ is 90 inches long.

A flat blanket would be good, until you need to cover your feet and legs. Wrapping up your legs in IX is what causes the clammy leg syndrome. The pointy footbox avoids that.

I think he meant the comment below.

Good grief! I forgot all about that!

Not sure what I want to put inside an IX TQ, but the InsulTubes Torso Heater doesn't work well because of the bulk. I'm more inclined to put long pleats in the inner layer. I have to figure out how to get the most out of two layers.
