    1st hammock trip

Hi All -- I hate to admit that I've had a hammock setup for over a year and haven't gotten to use it. I was into backpacking and then had some foot issues and got out of it for a while. But now I think I am back and looking forward to a lot more hammock nites.

I went for a car camp on some friends property outside of Cleveland GA last weekend and setup the hammocks. I should have listened about the ground pad for the first night, even in summer -- it was like ice on my back! Second night was great though, added a Big Agnes insulated pad slightly blown up and boy, I have never had a better night in the woods. No back or shoulder pain when I got up -- I will never go back to the ground now!

The setup was some diy tree hugger straps, the Skeeter Beeter Pro hammock and a Claytor diamond rain fly.

I want to Thank all of you guys for posting here -- over a year ago when I bought and formed my setup, it was from reading many posts here that got me to try this and helped to figure out what to get.

    Here is a pic...

That property isn't off of Teel Mtn Drive is it? Looks just like Genuine Draft's dad's backyard.
Glad, very glad, you're going to give backpacking another go! It's a glorious life made all that much better by sleeping on air at the end of the day. Welcome back to the wilds!

    Thank you guys!

No, not off of Teel Mtn Drive -- this is place is between cleveland and dahlonega a little ways off of 52. It was a very pretty place!

Hope to hang around the forums more too -- just renewed my membership :-)

Those claytor tarps are so stealthy. Cool looking set-up.

Sweet. Welcome to HamAnon or Hammock-R-Us.
Looks good. Hang a lot and have fun.
Tortoise never for a moment stopped, but went on with a slow but steady pace straight to the end of the course.

    More Claytors! (and a Clark)

This was on a hang a couple of weeks ago. There are four Claytos and a Clark NX 250 in the pic. One of the Claytors is behind another so it's hard to see. They remind me of some prehistoric birds nesting.
