    Canoeing trip over the weekend

    Good morning,

enjoyed myself thoroughly last weekend on a short trip with a good outdoor buddy of mine and my dog as company. If you don't mind the German captions of the pictures, have a quick look and let me hear what you think. Enjoy: http://picasaweb.google.com/kdr911/P...eat=directlink

    All the best, Chris

Looks like a fine, fine trip. Nothing like burning some meat on a fire in the middle of the woods.

I'm interested in that wood stove you've got there. Is that home made? Is it a requirement to use that instead of an open fire due to regulations?

Looks like you had a great trip. I often take my dog with me when I canoe, she even has her own life jacket. I don't let her swim though, too many alligators! I hope to be going on a canoe trip with a teacher friend of mine after school gets out for the summer. I can't wait.

Nice trip report - wish I remembered more German though. Looks like you had a good time and that picture of the corn and meat is making me hungry.

Looks like a nice trip to me

What canoe do you have, it looks a bit like an Ally? I've been thinking of getting myself a folding canoe as I live in the city so have no need for a car and my flat doesn't have space

great looking trip ... love to hear more about the stove you used. Fine looking beast you have ... seems to prefer swimming over the canoe!

boys, I got to hand it to you: You know your stuff!

    1) @ Col_M and Shewie: yep, that's an Ally 16ft Explorer alright. A very nifty Norwegian folding canoe design.
    2) @ fulminated: There might be a rule for using certain stoves and others not, but I really wouldn't know about that . While he have probably more rules than any other nation in the world, sticking to them makes life boring and takes the challenge out of things!
    3) @ those of you interested in the stove, here's a little more of it in action:

It's a very cool design indeed that I had seen on a trip a couple of years ago. I asked the guy to make me one, here's his page (in German though):
