    First Hammock failure Hang :(

So I recently put woopie slings on my hammock, got some tree straps and toggles. I had the chance to actually try out the woopie slings to day and I found them to have a much different hang then the stock webbing. Well the first problem was when I got in for the first time and I feel flat on my kiester . Not sure what happned but every thing including me was ok. Im just happy my dog wasent underneath me . As I adjusted tree width, angle and sag I just couldent quite get the same comfortablity I had with the stock webbing. Has any one else had this experience or like every thing else do woopie slings have a different learning curve then stock webbing. I like the woopies and straps much less bulk so I dont want to switch back but I dont want to scrafice comfort either. Ill try again tommrow mabey you fine guys and gals have some advice for me.

P.S. the one rule and best rule that ive learned here on HF which Im glad I followed today was never hang higher then your willing to fall
Sometimes I like to hike and think, And sometimes I just like to hike.

Hiking is'ent about waiting for the storm to pass its about learning to hike in the rain.

If you are putting on your WB, there should be no change in the comfort.

Make sure you have the hitching oriented correctly so it's at the top of the whipped knob when laying in the hammock. Where the ends ( corners) of the material come together in the bundle is where you want your slings to pass over.

    Funny you should ask...

I took my maiden flight this afternoon in my newly Whoopie slinged, tree huggered and marlin spike toggled ENO Doublenest and loved it. My comfort level was similar to before (with stock stuff) but everything was much more finely adjustable (not to mention much lighter) than before.

    I couldn't be happier.

I would think that there should be almost no difference in the hang no matter what you use- Whoopies, webbing, stock rope, steel cable. Well maybe a little difference in the stretch, but once stretched out all the systems should be similar. Are you sure you have the whoopies on correctly and how long is the bury? I've never had one fail. I am puzzled.

This is a biggie. My brother and I were testing new hammocks with Whoopies this past weekend. We had the whoopies threaded backwards and dropped like rocks.
Once we corrected how the cinch and readjusted it was great.

The ENO straps we have still suck.

There is another possibility that I can think of. When you tie your marlinspike hitch, if you tighten up on the bitter end the hitch will become unstable and spill. Are you tightening up on the tree side only?
