Needs more tension on the top thread.

After you get help, you will be in good shape, from the way things are going!

the thread problem is one of the top (spool thread) tension. Tighten that up or make sure you have it threaded correctly. If you don't thread that tension plate properly you will have all sorts of problems. There is usually a little wire "hook" at the tension plates that you need to engage with the thread. If that is missed you will have no proper tension on the thread and you will get the loops on the bottom.

What a difference a day makes! $50 and a few hours with the sewing machine repairman and this machine works like a champ!

    He completed the following:

Cleaned outside and insde and oiled (he also showed me a few oil points I was not aware of)

    Fixed the bobbin winder

    Replaced the tensioner spring

Replaced the presser foot w/ one made for Zig Zag.

Demonstrated functions and features for me when I picked up!

Well worth the extra cost to get these corrected. Now to start making some stuff sacks and other practice items...

Thanks to all of you for the help, advise and assistance.

Use the correct oil. IMO do NOT use 3-in-one. He probably sells a very light machine oil. It's worth buying it from him. Buy a pinpoint oiler. It is really easy to put too much oil on. This device lets you deliver oil by the drop.

    Glad you got it working.
