Buffalo River, AR 5 day paddle

Just returned from a 5 day paddle on the Buffalo River in AR. A group of friends I went to college with paddle every Memorial day and this year was our 33rd annual trip. There are 14 of us in the group. It is quite the tradition. I will report out more later when I have more pics, but here are a couple that will wet your whistle. This was about the best hang I have ever had.

If you get the opportunity to paddle the Buffalo, do it. It was spectacular beauty, challenging paddling, and fun fishing. Only down side was the ticks. I did not have any, but my mates seemed to have plenty. Wonder if hanging helped.

That's great canoebie. Beautiful country down there. SmokeHouse led us all in a hang and hike this spring. I hope to get back there this fall. I'm wanting to take up paddling myself and have been researching kayaks. Thanks for sharing the trip info.

Nice hang. It almost looks like a spot I hung last summer.

Hoping to get there myself, in a few weeks, provided nothing else goes wrong.

Loved the Buffalo River Trail, except for the ups and downs. Next time I head that way I definately want to float as well as hike.

As far as the ticks go, they are running a special on them this season. One of the guys with us counted 43 on him either crawling or munching. I had none thanks to permathrin treated pants, shirt, socks, and buff.
