Hike solo - a chain is only as strong as the weakest link - enough said.
Simplify your kit. Fewer items can be packed faster than more items.
Follow a routine. As an example I put my stake bag in my pocket before I pitch my fly and never hunt for stakes or guylines.
Pack the same way every time. You then do not need to think about where things go.
I switched from a bear bag kit to an Ursack this year. Hanging and retrieving the bear bag was the single most time consuming camp chore.
Do not eat and camp at the same site. This is counterintuitive. It seems like it is more efficient to multi-task and cook and eat while you are packing/pitching. Try it - I think the results will surprise you.
