Kanangra Walls - Blue Mountains - Australia

Gday guys I did a 26km hike with some friends on the weekend. We walked from Kanangra walls to the base of Mt Cloudmaker and camped.
I slept in my Claytor Jungle Hammock with the large Claytor tarp. I used a JRB Shenandoah UQ and put a 1/4 foam pad between the uq and hammock. Temps got to about 2C and I felt a bit cold.
I think this was the result of wind. The tarp ends were closed but the tarp was about 30cm off the ground.

Should I put the tarp all the way down to the ground and would putting the pad between the actual hammock layers help?

Anyway check out my youtube video and channel.

Fair dinkum ...... does anyone really say that down under?
I would put the pad in the hammock under your body. putting it between the UQ and hammock will cause gaps ... thus the wind will find a way to rob your heat.
A weather-shield helps immensely. Mine is 7 ounces and really cuts wind.

    Thanks for the comments guys.

Hey Shug! Yeah not alot, mostly in a question type way. In the same way that you would say "are you serious?"

I will puy my pad in between next time. I do have some questions. What material did you use for your weather shield? I would like to make one too. Are there any DIY plans out there, haven't been able to find any.

Not sure how to spell that word in the title. It was given to me by some great friends from Adilade (spelling again). They told me that is was a Aborigines (spelling bhahaha) swear word.

    2 questions.....
    1. Did ya carry your vegimite? Yuuuuukkkkkk!
    2. How do you keep from falling out of your hammock since you are on the other side of the world it seems you should fall out being up side down. bahahaha

    Great video

    Thanks BEAS,

Nah I didn't take any. I normally eat it most mornings tho! make sure you only lightly put it on toast when you try it or it will be wayyyy to strong.

I generally use extra webbing straps and harnesses around my waist to stop me falling out. Sometimes you just need to hang like a bat.

Sadly not much of the indigenous language is spoken or discussed where I live. It would be great to hear more of it.

Great walking country you have there The music was pretty sweet too.

They're called the blue mountains because of vapour in the air making them look blue right?
