Thumbs up First hang test (now the wife wants one)

Well, got the ENO Doublenest in the mail today and was really impressed! I didn't have any production hangers so I used some milspec static line and an old cargo strap I had in the truckbox.

Everything went very well other that a pop or thud I heard as the hammock was settling with my weight in it. I assume that is normal, probably just the knots settling, but wanted to run it by you folks anyway.

It seems quite strong as my kids were bouncing all over me in the hammock!

    Good looking family.
My first time in my Eno DN also popped a little. Looks like you make it ok. Congratulations I know the family will enjoy...

I was kind of skeptical about getting the doublenest just for myself, but I have heard that others prefer roomier as well for pads, bags, and other gear.

I like the double nest. The single just seamed a little to small.
And yeah, those popping sounds when the hammock is settling are fairly normal, but they sure will scare ya, especially if you've ever hit the ground hard from a failure
    Great pictures!
I too will something make and joy in it's making

My wife didn't want one, but both of my boys did...hmmm...in the last few weeks, that's three hammocks, three underquilts, three top quilts/bags, three tarps, two new backpacks, three suspension systems, two UL pots, two alky stoves, three mugs, ouch...ouch...ouch...I give! But you know, with all the money we spend on satellite/cable TV and phones and toys and games, this is one investment that I actually expect to pay positive dividends. Enjoy your time with your family. Looks like they are all having a blast.
