    Thumbs up

Been reading this string for a while ... impressive customer service ... I like seeing that sort of thing!

Big thumbs up on standing behind your product or services!

WARNING: Will discuss Rhurbarb Strawberry Pie and Livermush at random.

Wow, sorry about the split! I have several GT hammocks and enjoy them immensely. The GT Ultralight is my all-around hammock and I've spent dozens of nights in it. Weight might be one issue (I'm only 165 lbs), but if you're within the intended range, than you should look to GT for warranty and replacement. I've purchased several hammocks from GT, and some have better sewing qualities than others -- I imagine they are getting these mass-produced in China (perhaps) where quality control can sometimes be an issue. You can also sew up two together and get a double layer.

So nice to hear that the customer service response has been excellent. This is a great community.

That said, I have to admit I laughed aloud imagining a group of ground dwellers watching a guy confidently set up his hammock only to have the thing split down the middle when he sat in it. Sounds like something from out of Laurel & Hardy or the Stooges or something.

    You are a good sport!

7 years later I have bought everyone I know a GT Hammock of various expense and I own at lease 10 - Best Mate just got one of the newer ripstop ones from me for his birthday. I tell everyone about my customer service story. A few days ago I witnessed one of the co-owners tell someone on the fb group that he would send them a hammock to try. I love these people! I am still using the original hammock that they sent me back in 2010.

This is a great update. It goes to show that it does pay off to take care of the customer.
