Is your fig 9 prussic'd as well? I cant think of a faster way to hang a tarp than having everything on prussics. Well i guess there are faster ways but you have to add weight. Let us know what you decide to do once you get off the fence!Originally Posted by Shug

So in your video Shug, you pointed out the shock cord. Is the prussic knot tied with that bungie cord, or is it tied with normal cord and a bungie tied onto that?
That was the solution for my issue as well. I added a couple of more wraps than normal and viola. I also found a Klemheist prussic worked better for the ends (like a truckers hitch sort of)

The tarp connector was done with standard prussics to the ridge line and Nacrabiners for the tarp tie outs to connect.
My figure 9 is prussic'd.... yessir.
I just used that 1/8 " shock cord 'cause it was just handy .... no benefits but it works.

I too have left a couple tarps up for a couple days. Didnt notice any sag in the RL. One was a Clark tarp set up with a 2 line and the other was my BWDD 4 seasons set up with a 1 line. I was sealing the seams and everytime theyd start to dry, it would rain. SO I left them up for 3 days until they were dry and never did I have to re-adjust anything.
If the ridgeline is stretching when wet (and I still belief and hope that's a big "if"), you might only notice it on a Spinn tarp.
If its a silnylon tarp, one of two things will happen:
1. If you're using STL's on the guylines, then the STL will absorb any stretch in the ridgeline just like it absorbs stretch in the silnylon.
2. If you're not using STL's, then you'll probably just blame any slackness on stretch in the silnylon anyway and never even consider that the ridgeline may have also developed slackness.

Reguarding shock cord. I've been slicing up blown motorcycle inner tubes and using them. Nothing more than a HD rubber band. Just go to a local MC shop and ask. Cost is nothing.

Burning Cedar, I think you hit the nail on the head. The times I have used Opies continous ridgeline in the rain with my Spinn tarp I do notice that I get some sag in the ridgeline by the next morning. I have verified that the prussiks are not moving, so my only thought was that it was with the ridgeline. I should mention that the amount of sag I have experienced is very minimal, not enough to disuade me from using the continuous ridgeline.
I know for a fact that it is mainly my ridgeline as the line between the two prussiks begins to lose its tautness and sags a little by morning.
Opie.... What ropes do you use for your ridgelines?
