I'm working on building these for an upcoming scout camporee, but thought I'd share.

That took some engineering to put together. I can't wait for pictures of the final setup of the hammock village.

Yeah, that will be interesting to see! Might have something very valuable there!
I too will something make and joy in it's making
Id like to see that also...
I would ask to see a hammock hanging in/on/from it....and/or maybe some scalars to figure out the size of the rig.
This is just taking Hennessy's hexagon hammock system to a new level. My idea is just making the joint. And not only the joint, but to make it so that you can use off-the-shelf chain link fence piping (6' for the legs, 12' for the ridge poles). The systems that Hennessy made for other scout jamborees was custom made and not really modular (each joint was custom). This joint system means that Hennessy's dream can finally come true.
I got the idea from OldGringo and now I'm going to produce it.
Here are some pictures from DavidWa during his scout jamboree.
a pic=1x10^3 words thanks!
Nice setup - what diameter of fencing pipe does it take? Any bracing at the feet to prevent splay, or do they/you count on the ground to prevent it?

I was going to build a jig, and make tripod "heads" one at a time...this is much better!
Are you gonna sell these?

Good thinking. Glad to see scouts in hammocks. I'm an Eagle from long ago. I think scouts is what taught me my lifelong love of the outdoors and the skills to turn a love into a reality.
