    tiny tarps - 5x8?

hey all. im looking to get an eno doublenest in a return to hammocking (previuosly had a gi canvas hammock when i was a scout which self destructed, and sold my hennesey a couple years ago...wish i hadnt done that now..doh!). at any rate, i have an integral designs 5x8 siltarp i use when on the ground and was wondering what kinda coverage this thing would offer on a doublenest. obviously blowing rain would be a problem, anybody have experience??

I've used the GoLite Poncho Tarp as a shelter many times. It's about 5x8 and works as an a-sym diamond fly, similar to the stock Hennessy tarps. You can get moderate coverage depending on how you pitch it, the direction of the rain/wind, etc.

Me too. Mine's a Roy Robinson design poncho which was an improvement on the skimpy HH tarp. I've since started adding triangular panels to all four sides of a 5' x 8' asym tarp to make enclosed ends, but even the basic rectangle works.

I made a 5x10 tarp. I think. It works, but just barely. Would be something I would practice before committing.
Is that too much to ask? Girls with frikkin' lasers on their heads?

thanks for the replies and pics, at least now i know it can be done. im going to test pitch this one next week when i get a hammock and see how i like it. i ran across some 1.1 ripstop at walmart on closeout today, i may go back and get it to try my hand at making a larger tarp.
