Great idea, also reduces the amount of line needed(lighter), looking forward to pics tonight.

i tried this sorta.when i made my single ucr suspension i had one to tension the ucr
is this the basic idea?

did not work to good as ucr tensioner.if you bump it it would loosen.may work with the steady pressure of a tarp.worth a try

here is a good knot you could use.also you could tie a small whoopie, intead of the whipping.i think the whipping is more versatile,as you can adjust your loop size and location more.

just thought of this knot a couple days ago for guy lines /tarp ridgelines, and non hollow braid lines.
instead of whipping you could potentially use a small tube, like a piece of a pen shaft
bill
Sort of, except I'm gonna put the stopper knot on a loop of bungie that I can lark's head onto my tarp. Also instead of using a whoopie type bury or whipping or whatever you're showing with the blue lines there, I'm gonna do one of those slip loops like are used in nacrabiners.
nice diagram.

Looks like it would work....
Your main issue will be the constrictor letting loose. Even the slightest bump on the unloaded end and it will slide loose.
mundele, that looks like a good attachment system.i think the bungee will help it stay in tension, and not release.good thinkin.let us know either way please.
Opie was right about it slipping. I did a test with a whoopie sling leaving one side of the bury unloaded and bumping it only slightly caused it to slip. Maybe the standard prusik's are the better way...
