Ha ... funny stuff EAY ... thought you were having one of those "Blair Witch Project" moments in the old Blackbird ... or would that be "Blair Skeeter Project"

WARNING: Will discuss Rhurbarb Strawberry Pie and Livermush at random.

Don't know, it was a pretty small snake. Suppose it could have been a young one.

It's like Deja Vu all over again. I, too, was left with mixed feelings about Henry Coe. Yeah, the skeeters were out for my trip, too, forcing me to zip into the hammock before sunset. That was nothing compared to the ticks, though. Or the invisible poison oak. Or the absolutely nasty water. Oh yeah. Good times.

    Sierra bound in 2 weeks.

Yeah, it's a California King Snake. We saw one in May while backpacking Henry Coe, and they're common in the foothills in California. Rather docile snakes. Use to catch them when we were kids.

So that's your name on HF. Is there something you forgot to tell me? Maybe something you should tell me before our next trip in the Sierras...

Special thanks to the HF members back east that recommended permethrin. While Josh (aka bearbait) was fighting off the ticks, I was watching them land on my pants, and throw their arms in the air before falling to their death. Good times.

Great video, Eay! And with the all the both of you reporting , it is unanimously positive. Plus, we get an Alice in Wonderland reference, spinning hot dog cam, and prospects of a do-over. Mind you, all of this from the stagnant water, mosquito-infested, poor hammocking scrub hills.

I wouldn’t know what to think if you had actually been on the coast, or the delta, or in the Sierras. (I’m only jaded because I live in the East Bay Hills)

Great job on the reports. Thanks. And next time, I’m in. Did Lori mention the Sierras?

    Looking Up
