Thumbs up just found out about this site: amazing info! thanks all

    new to this forum...

hey there, i just joined the forum, seems like a lot of good people have great advice for newbies, well explained too!

i am up north in Quebec, do a lot trekking on crown land, seeing another person is rare! wildlife, plentiful, there are even lakes that have perfect drinking water. closest paved road, 39 miles, nice and peaceful. no limit here on where you want vast, untouched by human, boreal forest .

the keeping warm info will be very useful to me,being in Canada and all, so keep it coming

    thanks again everyone.

Welcome to the forums we are glad to have you. You are lucky to have such great places to hang! Many of us have to travel great distances to get to a decent hanging spot. You will find a wealth of information here on staying warm. If you would like to try your hand at DIY there are many treads here that will guide you through making your own top and bottom quilts. If you perfer there are many fine cottage industires here on the forums. That would be happy to help you aquire the gear that you need to keep warm and toasty.

Welcome to the forums. The Crown Land sounds amazing, I'll have to mention that to one of my Quebec friends and maybe see if he will go there with me.

Welcome to the forums. I've been eying some of the crown land in Northern Quebec for some time. Looks like a great place to get away from everyone else. Please post about your trips - I'd love to learn more about the area.
