    Fabric stretch from heavy guests

Has anyone had someone really heavy lay in their 1.9 oz nylon hammock and had what feels to be the fabric really stretch? My 1.9oz hammock feels like the fabric stretched and now makes my back hurt when I lay in it. My understanding is 1.9 should hold 350 pds. Tightening the straps and so forth did very little to easy the comfort and I don't know what to think.
I'm hoping I don't have to make a new hammock.

Thoughts or experience on the matter?
I like big hammocks - I cannot like.

As counter intuitive as it sounds loosen the straps and hang with greater sag. That allows more of a diagonal lie which is ideally what you want.

I got back a loaner hammock that was destroyed. Best I could tell is the guy hung close to the ground, then when he got into it the fabric was at that point where it could rub against what was under him but not to the point it couldn't stop swaying. The stretch, abrasion, and gravity from the guy's weight finally caused a fabric failure at the lowest point - his butt. About a year later I finally got the hammock back without any explanation or even being told it had a problem. I had to pull it out myself and discover it was ruined.

One thought that comes to mind Trout... Is it a gathered end hammock? How did you secure the gathered end (whipping, wire tie)?

I wonder if it slipped from the way you originally had it?
I too will something make and joy in it's making

I have not heard that a single layer of 1.9oz RS would hold 350 lbs...where did you hear that?

This is why I am the fattest person I allow to lay in my hammock.

    Truth be told, I am the fattest person I know, but that is beside the point;

    I have principles you know!
    I ride a recumbent.
I like to HAM it up on the CW.
    I use Linux.
    I play go.
Of course I sleep in a hammock!

That's a really good question. What kind of hammock is it?

I've had someone pretty close to that weight in one of my DIYs that is 1.9 and didn't notice any major difference, but I didn't exactly spend a lot of time in it after he tried it. Wonder if the fabric will un-stretch the way nylon webbing does over time.
    Trust nobody!

I can hold my end of the teeter tooter down against most anyone. I'm with Rug on this one. If he's bigger than me, he ain't getting in my hammock.
