newish from GA, with a question

I'm life long hiker and camper. Have always loved hammocks for lounging, within the last year I picked it up a used Hennessy expedition. I enjoy being of the ground. I have added whoopi slings (which I would recommend highly).

There are a few things I do not like about the HH Exped. The biggest being the length. I am 6'3" and there isn't alot of room for me to get comfy.

I would welcome so thoughts on other hammocks that would be better suited to a tall person.

Thanks ahead of time for all the info!

I used to have that hammock and went the DIY route. I am the same height and made a speer style 10 feet long. The longer it is compared to your height the flater you lay.

If you like the attached bug net warbonet or clark is the way to go for me. There are a bunch of people from here in your area. Might be worth making a campout or asking around to try others.
Is that too much to ask? Girls with frikkin' lasers on their heads?

Welcome to the forums! Glad to see that you found your way off the ground and have discovered hammocks. DIY hammocks can be made to any length needed. I am also 6'3" and my ENO Double nest and my Warbonnet Blackbird are both have plenty of room. Although my nod goes to the WBBB foot room and overall comfort level.

Hello and welcome from NE GA!

I'm only 5ft tall and yet I was having issues with hammock lengths interfering with being able to lay flat. I finally went the diy route and I'm a LOT happier (and more comfortable) now.

It's pretty easy to make your own hammock. There are good instructions here at HF and plenty who'd kindly offer help if you want to give it a try.

I don't own a Blackbird hammock , but HappyCamper let me borrow hers to try. I have to say it was EXTREMELY comfortable and roomy!

Again, welcome to HF! I'm sure the GA folks will be getting together eventually. There's been interest.
