My brother and I decided to go in together and buy our dad an Eno Doublenest and slap straps for Father's Day. Pop really liked the idea of a hammock after I showed him one of my HH Expeditions awhile back, so bro and I decided that this would be a good gift for him to take on his camping trips with our mother in their truck and travel trailer.
My sweet wife volunteered to wrap the gift for us, so we were all set.
This morning, as we were getting ready to head out to meet the family for lunch, I reminded my dear wife about her offer to wrap. She promptly and sweetly got right to it, and had it done in short order.
A little while later, I heard her say, "Oh, crap! I wrapped the wrong thing!"
This was after she noticed the Eno and straps still in the bag from the store on a table in the kitchen.
So what had she wrapped, I inquired.
"Those two black things that were on the dining-room table," she said.
The "black things" were actually dark gray-green silnylon bags -- containing my brand new Warbonnet Blackbird and the doors for my SuperFly!!!!
I sure was glad that she realized that she had wrapped the wrong stuff before we gave it to my dad.
