    Hennessy supershelter pad failure

This weekend, the pad on my Hennessy supershelter failed. I'm not entirely sure what I did. I can only think that I put too much tension on the side pullouts. I quadrupled the elastic and used regular cord to run from the looped elastic to the ground.

The pad ripped right along the stitched line of the edge and the diagonal channel that connects the two side tie outs.

I'll email Hennessy and ask for advice. I'll report my findings here.

    Update:

I contacted Ann at Hennessy Hammock and she offered to send me a free replacement.

I informed her that this pad failure might be my fault, and that as such, it really wasn't her responsibility to send me a free pad. I really just wanted some help so that I didn't do it again. I offered to buy a new pad.

She sent me a free one anyway.

Now that is outstanding customer support.

Uh oh, I'll have to remind him to only use his powers for good from now on.

No doubt, that is excellent customer service, no matter how you put it. Particularly in light of some of the bad publicity that Hennessy was getting here some time back, that's definitely a good thing.

Dixicritter, glad to have you on with us here @ HF. It was nice to see the whole SGT Rock crew at Hot Springs. Welcome aboard.
