Yeah. . . (sigh ) We need to get SwampFox on board with this one as well. Maybe if you come up Saturday to Devils Fork SP we can persuade him into coming . . . you got any of Dameon's p-nuts stashed away? Give him some of those... he'll come for sure then !

I'll make a Goat Island Hang one of these days but not right now. (and not in the summer 'cause I hate to lay in my hammock and sweat).
I've had my heart set on hiking the Foothills Trail from Tablerock to Oconee over 3 or 4 weekends and that's going to be the weekends after this hang.
If all goes as planned, one of my sons will be leaving for the Army mid-November. One of the trips will be with him.
Go ahead and sign me up for the spring.

I called Devil's Fork today to check on the shelters at the day-use area for the group meals.
They are available to reserve or they are first come, first served if no one has reserved them. All of them , three I think, are available. They have to be vacated by 8:00 pm so that would knock out the dessert but we could still meet in one of them for the evening meal.

Worthy goal that Foothills Trail is. Glad you'll be geting to spend some time on the trail with your son before his departure. My hats off to him for his service

Well I guess it is time to give up trying to make this trip. I have another family commitment that weekend and I thought I could move some things around but you know how that goes... I will look forward to the pictures and hearing some good stories once everyone gets back.

Stay safe and have a great trip!

    Sorry

Well once again (this is becoming too much a habit) I am not going to be able to attend a hangout. This one unfortunately involves my son's health so maybe next time.
One of these days I'll attend and prove to RiceGravy I am not just a 13 year old lurking on the web!

    That's just too bad Redbank.
Hope all works out well with your son.

Well . . . I'm depressed . . . have to leave after the girls get out of school. (Bet there some thoughts of us bailing . . . NOPE! ). I was hoping for a noon departure from Columbia but it will be closer to 3:00. Should arrive hungry with about an hour worth of setup time and then prepping dinner. Looking forward to time with family, old friends, and new friends. We'll be at sites #16 & #17, open invite to all . . . . 2 more days. . .

This is who's coming as far as I know.

SwampFox (+at least 3) tent site #25, near the day use area
    Muskrat (+7) Sites # 16 & 17
    WFR (+2) Main campground
    Chicky (RV site #27)

    Here is my itinerary
I'll be there about 3:00 Friday
One son and his girlfriend will get there later.
The Mrs. will arrive Saturday morning.
Son and girlfriend leave at 1:00 to get to work on time.
Another son and wife may show up Saturday afternoon/evening.
    Leave Sunday afternoon.

    Muskrat,
I propose we all meet at Casa de Muskrat for dessert Saturday night.

Sounds like a plan. Cover Dish Dessert! We are planning to eat an early dinner, around 5:30 and then I believe 6 of our 14 will be heading back to their homes. Lets say to meet around 7:30 pm. Will that work? Should be a fair amount of daylight left to prep a dessert and get it cooking before it gets dark, I would think?

Looking forward to meeting you guys.
