"Humiliate your surroundings"
Alrighty,
My parents and I are set to camp Friday Oct 8 thru Sunday morning. I will definatly be there. The only thing is...I'll be at the RV lots just south of where you all will be. I couldn't convince my dad AND my mom to tent/hammock camp, so they decided the RV would be better. I also couldn't convince my dad to get me one of the spots with you guys (darn!) because that would involve paying for another site. So I don't know if you should include me on the list of people coming...but I will probably be checking out different setups up where everyone else is at. As much as I want to stay with my fellow hangers, I'll just have to survive by hanging outside the luxurious RV.
We're also bringing our 2 kayaks. If anyone else is planning on kayaking, maybe we could get together. Just a thought.
Also, I was wondering if anyone here is bringing a WBBB. I am interested in buying one but I would like to see one in person first.
Thanks!

Great news Chicky,
I won't be able to hang in the area with most of the others either, but I'll have two WBBBs set up on site #25. There is good access to put a kayak in the water there too.
Which site do you have?

That sounds good, I will have to stop by and check them out. They must be pretty awesome if you've got two of them!
We are going to be at site #27 in the RV loop, so not really near any other hangers or close to water. We'll most likely put the kayaks in and check out the Double Springs area for future camping trips. Should be fun, I'm looking forward to it!
HOWDY CHICKY!
My son and I (he's 13) will be camping on tent site 12. My good friend Big Canoe is trying to get free that weekend to bring 2 of his kids to camp as well on another site. You are more than welcome to come set up a hammock on our site if your parents will allow it. I am a YMCA youth leader and frequently take groups of kids camping in case your parents are concerned about you camping with a stranger. Feel free to contact me via e-mail if they would like to talk with me. We are fairly new to hammock camping so won't really be able to give pointers, but are looking forward to the weekend.
You and your family should also plan on eating with the group when we get our meal planned. I believe there is talk of a pot luck. We'll nail that down here in a few weeks.
We are planning, at this time, on bringing a canoe to paddle.

After talking with my family and friends, we have decided to do dinner on our own. I am taking under my wing my brother-in-law and his family as well as our friends and my in-laws. With this kind of a crowd, kids included, I'd feel a bit better controlling dinner rather than multiple dishes for a pot luck. I am playing it safe and planning to do another low country boil for them. Easy, pleasing, with very little cleanup. . . less frustration on my end.
However, I have recently been talking with a neighbor who actively participates with the local Boy Scout Troop andhe turned me on to a dessert method that I would like to try and hopefully would like to share with all. Any chance we could add a "pot luck dessert" to the agenda? Maybe later in the evening where all could bring a dessert to share?
Just a thought . . .
