Instructions are a wee more complex /obtuse than opie's at start of thread but clearly laid out enough and not rocket science. I like that the stopper knot is organized and that the free ends are buried. Made one w 30" of 7/64 amsteel. Looks good. Will see if it is useful at all as a replacement Carabiner on treehugger strap loop.

I will post again or remove if it fails.

Long term Amsteel soft-shackle durability "test". No real test. Just based on use. Backyard cotton hammock that hangs outdoors ~6months/year. The whoopie slings and soft shackles have outlasted the original hammock. ~18 months of 24hrs/day exposure to the elements. This season the SS have been replaced by alloy carabiners that have been sitting around. Not because they have worn out. Needed for other use. They look a bit weathered, but are still way stronger than needed for hammock use.
