That's with the thick cord and steel biners it comes with. Take off the biners and swap out the rope and you'll be around 15 oz...not bad for a hammock that wide.

yup -- swapping/ditching the biners alone will shed at least 5oz. I tied straight to the whoopie sling (from factory rope ends) and it is noticeably lighter.

I swapped mine out for whoopies over the weekend and cut off the buckle strap. I got it down to about 18 oz. Also laid in it for about 30 min this weekend and I will admit it is VERY comfortable. It may become my winter hammock over the WBBB... we'll see though.

If not, it is at least awesome to throw up during lunch on day hikes, vacation, weekend lounging, etc.

I've shared this idea before but I don't think anyone has seen the beauty of it yet. I used what seamed like "extra fabric" on the ENO double by cutting the different colored strip down each side & adding Velcro tabs.
It can hang over the sides or be overlapped & Velcroed across the top (with or with out top quilt.
Makes a nice, protected environment for the body, kinda like a hammock sock to a degree.
I too will something make and joy in it's making

I picked one up yesterday at the Colorado Springs REI.

I'm on a motorcycle trip and already overpacked, so I shouldn't have. But I did.

I hung it at 8000 feet elevation last night. (But I slept in my WBBB.)

Agreed. For now I see this more as my lounging hammock more than camping hammock, but who knows, that could change.
