Gee, this thread has been dead too long.
Recently I saw The Sand Pebbles with Steve Mcqueen, and noticed the way he was carrying his navy hammock tied around his seabag.
Found two photos of it in ebay.

I don´t know if this is going to appear twice, since the first post I made dissapeared.

I said that I recently saw The Sand Pebbles with Steve Mcqueen, and noticed him carrying a hammock tied around his seabag when transfered to his new boat in the movie.
I saw two photos of him in ebay, but seems that the links didn´t work here.
So I found another source for the still photo of the movie, and the other photo from another angle, where you can see more details of the hammock clews tied over the seabag.

    I thought the same thing!

Does anyone find it strange that when you see a hammock advertisement that people tend to look like bananas and never lay at a diagonal?

I tend to also notice this kind of thing in ads for hunting bows. Everyone is always shooting with the quiver still attached to the bow. I dont know ANYONE that does that, but its like the photographer thought, "it looks cool this way" and shot it with no knowledge of the product.

He's disrespecting his hammock with those shoes on. Tsk tsk.

Another photo of a navy hammock appeared fro ebay in my mailbox. This I like it because is the first hammock I had, and it explains that it can be used as a cot, that is what makes it different from other hammocks. Now I have one more hint of how to do that, since I had always believed the hammock was used in some kind of army cot with the legs crossed, but it seems more like the kind with several w shaped legs.
Would just post the photo link, but the image of the back of the photo with the legend is upside down, so I put the whole ebay page so you can read the legend.
You can see my hammock in my gallery.

Screen shot from the 2008 movie The Red Baron. A member of the Baron's Flying Circus napping in a Brazilian hammock. I believe it's the very hammock I sleep in.

That´s a good one ad, Pipsissewa, don´t know what COPD is, and would rather never find it out.
    Cheers!
