Wow! Thing1 and I drove down Oak Creek Canyon on our way home from the Tetons and Yellowstone. What a wonderful place.
Let me know if you have any questions about how to get the most out of your IX UQ.

Hi Mac. I did get a bit confused on the best way to hang the IX UQ. Normally I hang it so that the layer which has the grosgrain tieout directly attached to the suspension line is on the outside, that would tend to "seal up" everything better. But when I looked at the insultubes that night, they seemed to be attached to that outer layer as well. My thought was that they (the insultubes) should be facing out from the inner layer so that they can hang loosely and offer more air pockets. So I flipped it over and that is what you see in the picture. With the gap that resulted see I think what I got was effectively a single layer UQ that night. I'm thinking what I need to do here is connect the suspension to the other layer instead. Mine was different from Angelo's IX UQ - his seemed to be attached "correctly", which got me a little confused. Thanks for chiming in Mac. I'd be interested to hear what your thoughts are on that.
That is correct. The InsulTubes Torso Heater pad should be between the layers, and should hang from the inner layer. I did it differently when I sent it to you.
Shifting the suspension to the outer layer will fix it.
If you ever leave one layer at home, it might work better to put the suspension on the layer with the InsulTubes Torso Heater, with the InsulTubes between the hammock and the single layer of IX. However, I have found that two layers is rarely too much.
