Just returned from my "shake down" trip of my new hammock. It was a short three day solo canoe trip into the semi wilds of Central Ontario. The area is a small chain of lakes two hours north of Toronto. These lakes lie on what we call "Crown Land" meaning it's owned by the people of Ontario, and camping is free and unregulated
Very nice small lake with some great Largemouth bass. The area is rarely busy, with only a few established campsites on each lake.
The Hennessey Expedition Zip enjoying it's first real hang! The side zip model will likely outsell the bottom entry shortly. It's amazing how much air the netting blocks. It was great to be able to unzip even a small way to add some breeze to an otherwise clammy humid hang.
View of the campsite from the water.
Looking out on the lake.
I spent most of the time under the tarp. It rained for all but a couple hours. The Chinook tarp saved the trip. The mosquito's enjoyed the tarp as much as I did.
I found it challenging to gauge the distance between trees for the hammock and tarp, I'm certain that will get easier with more practice. I can confirm that mosquito's certainly bite through a hammock Thanks to the forum I was prepared!
